To know Audi’s Quattro Concept, you have to recall the original Audi Quattro (a.k.a.”Ur-Quattro”) from 1980. Launched 30 years ago, the two-door coupe was the first sports car to feature the automaker’s new Quattro all-wheel-drive system. With a turbocharged 2.1-liter inline five-cylinder engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission, the original 200-horsepower street variant was good for a 0-60 sprint of around seven seconds and a top speed of 137 mph. Rally-prepared, and with hundreds of additional horses under the hood, the Audi Quattro was unstoppable, dominating the Group B class in rally competitions around the world for years.

Combining the features from a number of vehicles such as Lamborghini, VW and SEAT Leon Cupra R, Austrian designer Adriano Mudri has conceived the RS7 concept for the Audi that other that presenting a hybrid design also minimal LED lights to remove the visual apprehension of Audi’s current corrective lenses. Passing the hood and descending character lines over the front wheels and into the doors, characteristic evident in the SEAT Leon Cupra R, the new Audi concept extracts scissor doors from Lamborghini Murcielago and the rear end from the Audi R8 to complete its hybrid design. Exposing the engine cover, curved to mimic the engine underneath, the Audi RS7 concept presents an interesting but at the same time stunning design upfront.

Today’s concept study comes to us from Marouane Bembli, a 23-year old industrial design student from Sweden. The futuristic-looking supercar was designed as a ‘halo’ vehicle for Audi that would in theory, either sit atop or replace altogether the current R8 in the automaker’s model range.

"I’ve designed what I believe will be Audi’s new supercar, the R10", Bembli told Car Magazine. "It features a mid-mounted V10 engine and a dry weight of 1200kg. I hope you like it!"

Well, minus the proportions of the passenger cabin area that looks way too small when compared to the rest of the body, we must say that we find the R10 Concept pretty impressive.
